At DHFL Changing Lives Foundation, we believe, investing in Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) is vital for large-scale change and empowerment of the unprivileged sections of society. With children being at the centre of our ECCE programmes, our aim is to strengthen the delivery of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme through Anganwadi centres or courtyard centres and thus, work towards sustainable and impactful change in a child’s developmental ecosystem. In turn, this ensures betterment for the entire family, village and the community.
It is our endeavour to create a shared vision and platform for India-specific ECCE programmes through on-ground implementation, partnership with local governments & communities, and NGOs. Research-driven insights and innovations based on actual field learning are helping us in our goal. In parallel, this will create a replicable and knowledge-driven repository for ECCE implementation relevant to India.
Every new born, irrespective of class, caste, colour or community should have the best social and health infrastructure available for development and growth. This drives us towards our mission of Changing Lives.
Case studies of the work implemented
Re-energising Mata Samiti
Mata Samiti (Mother’s informal committee) is a traditional concept in rural India. The womenfolk, especially mothers, form a samiti (committee) to oversee the child, health and sanitation-led development work in their respective villages. DHFL Changing Lives Foundation through training and motivation re-energised Mata Samitis to oversee their child’s development activity in the villages. Be it preventive healthcare for expectant mothers to bettering the quality of food being served in anganwadis or courtyard centres to innovative methodologies for enhancing a child’s learning; the Mata Samiti today acts as an effective local think tank, quality-cum-feedback agent and guide to all children’s activities.
Who else other than a mother can look after her child’s welfare best! DHFL Changing Lives Foundation is re-igniting self-governance and quality-led best practices by re-energising Mata Samitis in a sustainable and scientific manner.
Let us join forces to create a more equal and accessible society with ‘children’ being the focus of our intervention for CHANGING LIVES
Strategic multi-level partnerships between public organisations, corporates, NGOs, volunteers and local communities create synergy and shared resources required for transformational change. Creating an eco-system of partnerships can lead to a shared vision and multiplier-effect for strengthening the outcomes of early childhood development and growth. Like-minded individuals and organisations who are working towards strengthening mechanisms for addressing ECCE ecosystem issues are welcome to write us for partnership. Let us join forces to create a more equal and accessible society with ‘children’ being the focus of our intervention for CHANGING LIVES.
At DHFL Changing Lives Foundation, we believe that everybody’s effort counts to effect social change. Further, sharing ‘agents of change’ stories will encourage learnings, replication and scale.
