Along the journey of corporate citizenship, it has been deduced that investing in early education and care programmes for children from marginalized sections of society is the key to enabling a sustainable transformation. Early childhood development is vital in developing the potential and overall growth of the youth of tomorrow. Hence, the efforts of DHFL Changing Lives Foundation are aimed at designing and implementing a holistic model with innovative education, health, nutrition and hygiene interventions through Early Child Care & Education (ECCE) programme.
The programme, in collaboration with the Department of Women and Child Development, is aimed at strengthening the delivery of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme through Anganwadis, with special emphasis on quality education. For holistic development and growth of children, the efforts are directed to work in congruence with anganwadi, home and community and ensure continuum of learning across all enviornments. The focus remains on early childhood stimulation, pre-school education, school readiness with overlays of health & nutrition for children, lactating and pregnant mothers, and adolescents. During this journey, the aim is to implement models of child-friendly Anganwadis or ‘Snehangans’ through partnerships, and to reinvent Anganwadis as transformation hubs for the socio-economic development of indigenous people.
ISA4C2 is a comprehensive capacity building approach to strengthen the delivery of ECCE services through Anganwadis involving ICDS Supervisors, Anganwadi Workers, Anganwadi Helpers, ASHAs , ANMs, CDPOs and the Community.

He strongly believes in the power of corporates contributing towards transforming societies and is fortunate to be a part of an eco-system that adds value to the social-economic growth in India. He feels that understanding the needs of local communities and realizing our role and impact as a respected partner to the community remains and an ongoing process and seeks to establish new and deep outcome-led engagement forms to drive sustainable progress through involvement, commitment and measurement. The company’s ethos of “Changing Lives” is underpinned by the focus on education from the earliest age and right through the learning cycle.
Further, he believes, with quality ECCE, children become happier and school ready. As a result, they grow into successful lifelong learners. Through its compensatory effects, ECCE helps children from disadvantaged backgrounds to have a strong start in school and in life. The best results are gained when ECCE caters to the child’s holistic development – facilitated by multi-sectoral collaboration – and provides developmentally and contextually relevant educational experiences.
